Swing by and check out a local art installation.  Due to Covid please wear a mask and practise social distancing - but most of all enjoy the art and Thank you for stopping by the site and our yard.

"We would like to acknowledge that our Garden Gallery is on Traditional Treaty 6 territory, a traditional meeting grounds, gathering place, and travelling route to the Cree, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Métis, Dene and Nakota Sioux. We acknowledge all the many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit whose footsteps have marked these lands for centuries."

Welcome to the 127th Open Air Gallery

Largely during Covid we have been locked in.  Early on we posted a "U Matter 2 Me" sign in our front yard.  This sign made an impact on our community.  It made a local blog and the local news.  We had such a positive response to this sign that we decided an Open Air Gallery could be a next step to bring a smile to our local community - when smiles are so needed right now.  We were inspired by those little free libraries popping up.  We were thinking of building one - but we have at least three in a few block radius.  We teased out the idea but never actioned it till now.

Every month we hope to showcase two pieces from an Edmonton based artist in our front yard. Stop by to check them out: 12117 127th Ave NW T5L 0Z6.

Are you an artist and want to raise your profile in the community - be the next to be showcased in this high drive by and walk by location.

Support a local artist or support your local community by buying the piece on display.  An artist may choose to raffle their art and may choose to donate the proceeds to a local or meaningful charity.

Virtually check out previous pieces and artists which were on display.

Inspired, build your own open Air Gallery and let's link up virtually so Edmonton can take a tour and enjoy a safe open air experience across the city.  Need any guidance on how to get started.

Check out the inspiration for our Garden Gallery it all started with a simple sign: U Matter 2 Me.

My family was inspired by the positive impact our simple "U Matter 2 Me" sign had on our community. Our community is not through Covid. Everyone is exhausted. Everyone wants it to end. Social distancing is as important as it was a year ago.

So over the Winter we planned to open an Open Air Experience (Our Garden Gallery) for our community to enjoy when they walk, bike or drive by. We created an Art Wall to show off local artists and raise money for artists or local charities.

Gallery & Public Spaces are largely closed. We hope to inspire a community to build their own Open Air Experience and build a shared network and grow like the Little Library Movement. Building a virtual tour for Edmonton over the Summer of 2021 and perhaps beyond. Inspired and looking for help to start email: welcome@MontageInMotion.com

If you are an artist who wants to raise your profile during Covid and raise money for your next project or charity reach out and maybe you can be our next exhibit: welcome@MontageInMotion.com

We have a new installation in our Lil’ Garden Gallery. This is our first Protest Art. A satirical water bottle label with a larger version of the label for reading placed in behind.
Some art is suppose to make us feel warm and cozy. Some art is intended to be resented. Hoping this art makes you uncomfortable and you hate it. Uncomfortable enough to act or react. Pondering do we provide more clean water outside of Canada than within. Organizations within Canada's Geo provide fresh water to communities in need outside of Canada. While peoples in our Geo go without. It is within our borders to give. It is within our expertise to provide - however it is not within our shared political fabric to respond.

Bidding for this art is already at $100. All proceeds to go to a water based charity helping our First Nations. If you donate to a charity let us know how much and if you have the highest donation or commitment to donate you will receive the art. You will have to show a tax receipt from Feb - April 2023.

Over winter we stopped putting food and drinks into our Lil’ Pantry. We expected most food to be damaged in extreme temperatures. Before this we had people daily draw on our Lil’ Pantry. If you need it service will resume soon. If you can spare it - none will go to waste.
—————--
We are looking for our next artist(s). If you would like to be showcased and raise some money for a charity you care about we would love to hear from you - welcome@MontageInMotion.com.

Is Water the New Small Pox?

Some art is suppose to make us feel warm and cozy.  Some art is intended to be resented.  This is the first protest art to be installed in our Lil' Garden Gallery @ 12117 127th Street NW - Edmonton.

Hoping this art makes you uncomfortable and you hate it.  Uncomfortable enough to act or react.  Pondering do we provide more clean water outside of Canada than within.  Organizations within Canada's Geo provide fresh water to communities in need.  While peoples in our Geo go without.  It is within our boarders to give.  It is within our expertise to provide - however it is not within our shared political fabric to respond.  Choose generous or genocide!  Inaction is a choice!

Calling All Local Artists?

Calling all muralists, photographers, painters, etc...  Every month we hope to switch out our installation to profile a new local artist's work.  Are you looking for a Covid-safe way to share your work with the Edmonton community.  We are on 127th and it is a very busy road and side walk.  Raise your profile and perhaps some proceeds for you or the community.
  • Through this site we want to include a picture/profile on your art and the artist (with optional contact details).  These profiles will persist on the site going forward.  Perhaps this may lead to future commissions and raise your digital profile.
  • If another patron falls in love with your work they may choose to bid on the work to take home after .  You choose if these proceeds are paid to you in it's entirely (we take no commission) or donate the proceeds to a local charity.
  • We will take efforts to protect your work from damage, graffiti and theft.  This being an Outdoor Venue running in the winter and spring - you will have to accept that your work may potentially face damage from the elements or risk damage from graffiti or may be stolen.
Interested in finding our more email: Welcome@MontageInMotion.com

Making Payments or Donations

Art will be posted for an Active Period.  Artists may choose to auction art for themselves or a local charity of choice.  We do not charge any commission whatsoever.

Option 1 - Winning a bid supporting a Local Artist
If the artist has elected to auction their piece and you email the winning highest bid - we will put you in touch with the artist directly to effect payment before releasing the art to the new proud owner.

Option 2 - Winning a bid supporting a Local Charity
If the artist has elected to auction their piece for charity.   Email a redacted Tax receipt for the specified charity showing the donation made durning the Active Period.  Or pledge an amount.  If you pledge or donate the most durning the Active Period you will be awarded the piece after the Active Period.  Pledges must be fulfilled before the piece is released.
